Whether you play at a live poker venue or on the internet, there are rules you need to follow. It is important to remember that your cards are visible to the dealer. The dealer will correct you if you break any rules.

The first player to the left of the button deals the cards. He must post the small blind, and all other players must post the big blind. After the cards are dealt, the dealer begins to shuffle the cards. The shuffled deck is passed to the next dealer.

The goal of Poker is to make the best hand. The highest hand wins the pot. A hand can win by beating a straight flush, five of a kind, two identical pairs, or another type of hand.

A standard 52 card pack is used. Some games also use Jokers. Wild Cards are cards that can take any suit. The dealer has the last chance to shuffle the cards.

Every player has two cards in their hand, but may choose to use four cards from the table. This type of hand is called a “backdoor flush.” Using the needed cards on the turn and river will give the player a flush.
